Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening All!
First, in a twist I didn’t see coming, Orlando changed gardening zones. We are now 10a. This is because we are hotter and our summers last longer than they used to. The number zone you’re in corresponds to how many growing months you have.
Note: I have always grown year round here in Orlando. When we have freezes, I empty my linen closet to cover the plants.
We are gathered here today for a little walk through my gardens to see what nature with a little help from me has brought forth!
And away we go…
Starting in the front yard, the bananas are fully bloomed and we had to prop them up using a tree limb. The weight of the bunch was too much and the bananas were touching the ground.

Guess what? We have a fall sunflower. It should bloom by October.

Moving to the backyard, I wanted to show you this yellow candy cane zinnia. Isn’t she purdy?

I planted some lettuce and it’s coming up.

The cucumber is still only giving me female flowers. But, it’s also still pretty hot!

This is a red hibiscus, I circled the blooms in red so you can see them. We should see something soon!

In other news, the pineapple plant gave me a pup! Pineapple plants only give one pineapple. After I harvested the pineapple, I left the plant in hoping it would do this and it has. Now I just need to split it before winter, and I’ll have another pineapple in about two years.

The bell peppers are growing. I can’t remember if these are red or orange. We will see when they’re ripe!

The aji dulce pepper (Sweet Caribbean pepper), is ripe and I’ve had some. There is a bit of spice in these but less than a jalapeño.

Finally, nature always amazes me. The Moringa tree that got knocked down in the wind storm? We left the roots in, it’s growing back. 😲

Thank you for joining me on this tour of our gardens.
Happy Farm Day!
