Wegovy Wednesday Wk 40

# Wegovy Wednesday Wk 40 Progress Pic Edition

Here we are, it’s been 9 months since I began my weight loss journey on Wegovy. So, let’s start with the number, shall we? I have lost a total of sixty pounds since this all began. For reference sake, I’m a short person. At a whopping 5’2”, when I gain weight, it shows. And, boy did I gain weight.

Between Covid and my Heart Attack, I gained quite a bit. But, when my back got messed up, and my ability to do any sort of cardio was removed: I ate the fuck out of my feelings. And, I just kept gaining. While I am not yet comfortable sharing what my top weight was; I’m happy to announce I’m now able to wear my pre Covid clothes. 🙂 For the first time in five years, all the clothes I own either fit or are too big.

I saw my new doctor on Friday (My regular doctor moved to KY) and she has decided I don’t need to see her once a month. I’m down to my last bit of weight loss and given I’ve had no horrible side effects and am doing well, there’s really no point to me going to the office once a month. I will now be checking in at three month intervals.

We spoke, at length, about my goals and aftercare. I reiterated that I was in it for my health most of all, but currently had a mental stopping point. Which is, basically, I’ll know it when I see it/feel it. We discussed the plan after I achieved that goal. That plan involves stepping down the medication until I get to what’s considered a “maintenance dose”. Everyone has a different maintenance dose. It is the dose where I can eat more than I do currently but not gain weight.

For those who are here for the diet stuff: I’ve continued a low carb, high protein, mostly whole food diet. I did eat cookies and such during the holidays, I baked them…someone had to make sure they were good enough for others to eat. LMFAO. However, I did so in moderation, as evidenced by the fact that I still lost weight.

Due to my back issues, I’ve had to cut the gym back to twice a week. More than that was just too much, and I found I couldn’t do household chores going more often. My back just hurt too much.

Now, without any further adieu, to remind you, this is what I looked like in April 2024

Drumroll, please

I REALLY wish I could see your faces right now.

I want to close this by saying that your emotional support through this last nine months has helped me immensely. Knowing I’ve had a cheering section, wishing me all the best in this endeavor has meant the world to me. I’m not at the end of my journey, but I want you all to know how grateful I am to have each of you in my life, even in this limited way.

Happy Wednesday!

That’s what I call success! I had similar things in my life, although no heart issues. Extra weight caused back aches, I was tired all of the time. Then I started Wegovy back in May and I’m down 47 lbs as of 1/12/25. Inspired me to blog (and brag a little, too). 😉
