Life Update

Since I’m unsure exactly where this post is going, we’re titling it that. Let’s just say we have a lot to talk about since my last update.

Thank you for all the support regarding my mother in law. Sadly, she passed away on my birthday, May 24, 2025. It’s been a whirlwind since. Given my partner’s father died in 2020, there’s an entire estate, including paperwork to deal with. We’ve been a wee bit overwhelmed to say the least.

In the intervening time since we last spoke about my Wegovy journey, I did raise my dose to 2.4 to push myself over the “finish line” and be at my final weight. This has not gone very well. I am so sick to my stomach. I have called my doctor and asked to lower the dose back down to 1.7. I’ll be starting that soon.

Speaking of my final weight, I’m pretty freaking close. As you may remember, I do not own a scale. This is by design, related to some obsessive issues I’ve had in the past regarding monitoring my weight. I’ve solely been relying on my Primary Care Physician’s scale since starting this journey.

In the beginning, when I was going to see the doctor once a month for checkups, this was fairly simple. Now, I see my doctor every three months, and that leaves me guessing except when I step on a scale at a different doctor’s office. The last time that happened was over a month ago, and I was approximately ten pounds away from my goal based on that scale.

However, as we all know, scales aren’t all the same.

I see my primary care physician on July 9. After that appointment, I will post my before and current pics side by side, wearing the same clothes so you can see the difference.

Be warned, saggy skin coming. 😂🤣

I’m pushing sixty folks, I’m not sure why I thought my skin would just bounce back. Lort, was I deluding myself, or what?

For those wondering, this doesn’t mean I’m having skin removal surgery. I’m okay with the way I look, but then I was cool with the way I looked ninety pounds heavier. I just wasn’t good with what it was doing to my health.

With that all said, onto the garden:

The tomatoes are done. That’s it. Rainy season showed up while my mother in law was in critical care. Fungus came with the rain, and I wasn’t around to catch it. I pulled them all last weekend.

A friend gave me a mango tree, it’s still small, but I’m looking forward to getting mangos when this baby grows. My sisters in law have requested I start growing Avocados. I just gotta figure out where I’m going to put it. LMFAO

Flowers are blooming. Peppers, mulberries, passion fruit, and loofah are all fruiting. Kale, green onion, and all my herbs are hanging in there. Still have my eye out for Seminole Pumpkin flowers, but nothing yet.

The cats continue to be the terrorists they were born to be. I love them regardless.

Nick and I are well, handling life as it comes.

I hope you are too!

I’m sorry for your loss. 😦 I’m happy for your weight loss, though. I had issues on 2.4, too. Eventually I moved over to zepbound. Yay for tomatoes! Mine just started to set. Hopefully, this rain pattern we’re stuck in will slow, and give my veggies some much needed sun. I look forward to your before and afters.
