Waving wildly from Orlando
Whelp, it’s been a bit since y’all have seen the garden, and I’m sure you Northerners miss color. It’s our spring here in Central Florida. You know what that means: I’ve been a busy bee.
In news to some, not all, we’ve (Yes, Nick gets garden credit for this) started putting in some raised beds. We’ve only gotten in two so far, but there’s a third one waiting to be built. We still have two of the old structures with containers on them, but decided to expand.
I have chickens to feed, dontcha know.
While the rest of America is paying $5 (that was the price at the local Aldi today when we went) a dozen for eggs, I’m walking next door (neighbor has been in France since Halloween, and we are taking care of his 9 chickens) and helping myself to free, fresh organic eggs. 😁 (I’ve become VERY popular amongst my friends. 😂)
Starting in the backyard:
Delphinium aka Larkspur. This is a perennial, which will come back every year and doesn’t die off here in Florida. Isn’t the blue just stunning?
In the first raised beds, we have tropical sage aka Salvia. Peas. Onions. Banana peppers. Red Bell peppers. And I put in a whole bunch of flower seeds along the edges, you can’t see them but they’re popping up (That’s Zelensky in the background for those wondering)
Here’s the tropical sage/salvia close up, that purple is glorious!
The second raised beds is my tomato bed. But, there’s also some wildflowers, lettuce, thyme, and carrots in there too!
Guess what? We have strawberries growing already!
We still have tomatoes! (Planted in October) Jealous? 😁

Moving to the front:
I started a new mulberry tree from a cutting.
And, here’s my manhole cover half circle, as you can see, the pentas and buttercups are coming to life!
It’s currently 79 F (26 C) here, and I’m loving it!
