Farm Day

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Friends!

Alright alright alright.

Gardening work never ends, especially in Spring, so here we are.

Let’s start in the backyard where we have this gorgeous Dahlia

The Mandevilla blooms are just about to open.

My tomato, carrot, lettuce, thyme bed is looking lush. If you look closely, near the front of the bed where the red romaine is, you’ll see some “mortgage lifter” tomatoes growing near the bottom of the plant.

The first round of cucumbers are coming up nicely. I tend to keep cukes and melons separate from other plants because they’re heavy feeders.

Look at how many banana peppers we already have!

I did a little plumbago propagation, so I could have some in the backyard too.

And, these are golden honeydew, honeydew being my favorite. (Which I, oddly, hated as a youngster)

Moving to the front yard, the Mulberry is packing on the fruit

Here are red velvet sunflowers in their permanent spot.

Finally, this is my newest addition: Guara. Gaura, also known as bee blossom or butterfly bush, is a flowering perennial native to North America. It’s known for its ability to tolerate heat, drought, and high humidity.

You’ve probably noticed, I’m doing lots more flowers this year. The bees and butterflies need to eat, too. 😉

Thank you for joining me on this tour of our gardens.

Happy Farm Day!

Someone is coming for a visit in May, I’ll be sure to have her pose with them.
